The Central Park of Culture and Rest
The Park of Culture and Rest is a reserve of wild nature in the centre of the city. This place is ideal for walks because of its tremendous greenery and scenery. The park is located on an island in the Middle Neva. There are four ponds in the southern part of the park and five ponds in the northern part. The main embankment in the park is lined with stone sculptures of lions, which solemnly guard the park. If you have the time, you must visit the majestic Elaginoostrovsky Palace (designed by architect K. Rossi). This is the former residence of the imperial family.
There are many activities you can participate in while visiting the Palace. You can rent water-shoots or go to the shooting-range or motor-racing track. There is also a boating station, a yacht club, and you can even take a motorboat ride out on the Neva River. During the winter it’s possible to rent skis and ice-skates.

How to get there
From metro Krestovsky Ostrov you will exit onto Rukhina (Рюхина) Ulitsa. From there walk straight to the bridge and cross it. Once you are on the other side of the bridge, you will be in the park.
Primorsky Park Pobedy
This park is an excellent place for roller-skaters and skate-boarders. Moreover, you can lie down and soak in some sun, get a tan, or enjoy the fresh air by going for a bike ride. You can even rent roller-skates and bicycles in the park if you don’t have your own.

Ice skating Rink in the Ledovy Palace
This skating rink is very big and large groups of people come here to have a good time while skating to popular music. You can rent figure skates or bring your own. There are locker rooms with showers available, tanning booths and a massage room as well. In addition, there is a baggage room, where you can safely leave your belongings while you skate. The cafe is open during all hours of operation.

How to get there
From metro Prospekt Bolshevikov make a right and walk to Pyatiletok Prospect. Once you reach this intersection, make a left.
Sosnovka (Park and Tennis Courts)
The Sosnovka Park is located in the territory of the Forest Park, which means that all of Sosnovka Square consists of 310 hectares of perfect pinewood. This is an island filled with wild nature in the middle of the busy St. Petersburg streets and is a great place to just go for a walk. It is very beautiful and unusual and definitely worth a few hours of your time. You can even play tennis in the many tennis courts that are located in the park.
