Word Press Photo 2011

Currently at the Loft Project Etazhi 200 winning shots from the annual World Press Photo photojournalism awards are on display. The exhibition is comprised of photos depicting the most important events of the previous year, ranging from humorour to flat out daunting.

The exhibition comprises the winning images from the nine different categories are presented, showing a large variety of photos from spot news to portraits and sports photography. This year, 176 Russian photographers participated in the contest, but there were no Russian winners.

This year, a special mention was given to a series of photos taken by one of the trapped Chilean miners.

Every Year all the prize winning photographs are assembled into an exhibition that goes on tour around the world. The exhibition is currently in St. Petersburg until the 15th of September.

Get out and see this amazing photo exhibition, opening today Aug. 25th and running till Sept. 15 at Loft Project Etazhi on Ligovsky Pr. 74.
