The Places to Visit in Moscow during the New Year Holidays
The New Year is one of the most anticipated holidays in Russia. Therefore, we decided to make a selection of places, where the guests can entertain themselves during the Winter Holidays in Moscow.
The Festival "SKAZKA market"
The fairy market corner will appear in the park of the "Vorontsovo" mansion. In case, if you are still in search what to do during your stay in Moscow, we recommend you to check this Christmas market. The market will be open on 30th of December, and will last till the end of the Holidays on 8th of January. Each day will be accompanied with the diverse entertainment program, where people can enjoy variety of activities suitable for kids and adults, and, of course, the traditional Christmas shopping.
The Ice Gallery "The Polar Star"
Starting from 30th of December, in the Main Gallery of the "Sokolnkiki" Park, the gallery of the ice figures "the Polar Star" will be open. The whole exposition introduces visitors to the beauty of the far north and its inhabitants. The idea of the exhibition was inspired by the Barneo Ice Camp and its endless snowy landscapes. The gallery space is created out of the ice cubes delivered from the Siberia. Inside one can find the snowy igloo and the tents of the polar explorers, the figures of bears, whales, reindeer and walruses.
The Christmas Light Festival
You would not be able to avoid taking part in the Christmas Light Festival, if you are in Moscow in January - February, as it will be all around you. The festive Christmas light decorations are installed on the streets, squares, in the parks and other cultural places across Moscow. Approximately 400 installations are set around the city.
The interactive Ice Organ in the Bauman's Garden
Starting from 26th of November, each garden in Moscow had to prepare a special event or attraction for the visitors during the Winter season. The surprise that was organized by the Bauman's Garden is the Ice Organ. The visitors will be able to play the instrument, the accords for the musical exercise were recorded by the musicians of the Moscow's Cathedral Church.
The Christmas Market on the Red Square
The capital's Christmas Market is 2000 sq. meters of space, where people can find uniquely designed crafts and Christmas decorations.23 Christmas houses will be set on the Red Square. From Thursdays to Sundays on two stages will be held concerts, theatrical and musical performances, and each weekend the Market will be visited by the Father Frost and the Snow Maiden.
