The masterpieces from the collection of the Vatican Pinacoteca are on display in the Tretyakov Gallery

The big exposition of works of Raphael, Caravaggio, Poussin, Perugino and Bellini is in Moscow till February 2017.
 
The most significant event of the passing year was the opening of the exhibition "Roma Aeterna. The masterpieces of the Vatican Pinacoteca. Bellini, Raphael, Caravaggio", which is held in the Tretyakov Gallery from 25th of November. In total, 42 art pieces from the permanent exposition was brought to Moscow, among which are works of Giovanni Bellini, Raphael, Caravaggio, Nicolas Poussin, Perugino, Melozzo da Forlì, Guido Reni and Guercino. Some of the works have never left the Vatican before, or have not been displayed outside Europe. 
 
This exhibition is a part of the project of Roma Aeterna, which is dedicated to this marvelous city and to its centuries-long friendship with Moscow. The second part of the project will be dedicated to the Russian art and will be held in the Vatican city. The most famous works of art from the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery will be selected for the event. The aim of the project is to show the similarity in the views of the world and works of Russian and Italian masters.
 
The exhibition is taking place in Engineering Building at Lavrushinsky Lane, bld. 12 until the 19th of February 2017.
