Terijoki Yacht Club/Resort - Interesting Place of the Week!

This week's interesting place is located in a small suburb of St. Petersburg called Zelenogorsk. This past week we visited Zelenogorsk for some cross country skiing and just to take a walk in the park and along the Gulf of Finland.

But the main attraction I want to tell you about is not the cross country skiing in the park, but more related to the Gulf of Finland. There is a beautiful yacht club and hotel right on the gulf that would make for a nice weekend during the winter or summer season.

The place is called Terijoki Yacht Club, Terijoki being the name of the town when it was a part of Finland. The name was changed to Zelenogorsk in 1948. It is a bit secluded and very beautiful with rooms facing right out towards the gulf.

The yacht club and resort includes a hotel with 48 rooms including 8 suites, 9 cottages for long-term or seasonal lease, 2 restaurants with modern interior design, a conference room which can accommodate up to 80 people, a wellness center with a wide range of services, and a Marina with 85 berths.

In the pictures to the right you can what it looks like during the summer and winter season. Both seasons would be a wonderful time to visit. In the summer you can swim and sunbathe on the gulf, or rent a boat to take out in the gulf along with many other activities.

In the winter there are also lots of activities, such as ice-fishing, kite skiing or snowboarding (which you can also do in summer), cross country skiing, or just relaxing in the heated outdoor pool and taking advantage of the the spa services.

In the third pictures you can see my favorite part, the heated outdoor pool with a tunnel connecting the indoor pool so you can swim inside and outside all year round!
