New U.S. - Russia Visa Agreement
Putin approves new U.S. - Russia visa agreement
September will bring a new set of visa rules for Americans wishing to obtain Russian visas. But this time the new rules make the process easier and more convenient for tourists and businessmen alike.
After being held up in Russian bureaucracy for over a year, President Vladimir Putin finally signed the new visa agreement which should be implemented by mid-September.
Under the new agreement, Americans will be allowed to obtain three-year multiple-entry visas allowing for a maximum stay of six months. Furthermore, and more importantly, the new agreement does away with the requirement of a written invitation from a host-country citizen or organization.
These new rules are surely to make it easier for Americans to travel to Russia and is likely to increase the amount of tourists and businessmen visiting Russia each year.
