Fingerprints for Russian visa to be required for UK and Denmark

Starting on December 10th, 2014, fingerprinting will be required at Russian Consulates in several countries. This new rule concerns those who apply for a Russian visa in the United Kingdom (including the Russian visa centres in London and Edinburgh), Denmark (including the Russian visa centre in Copenhagen), Myanmar and Namibia. The same procedure will be introduced at the border crossing point at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow.  Biometric data will not be collected when issuing diplomatic and official visas, nor visas for children under 12 years of age. If this pilot project is successful it may be implemented in other Russian diplomatic missions.
