The State Hermitage Museum Considered One of the Most Romantic Museums in the World
The Telegraph newspaper has recently published a list of 10 most romantic museums in the world. The State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, according to British journalists, is the main attraction of one of the most romantic cities. "For sheer grandeur, no other museum can touch it. Wandering around the glittering, gilded, frescoed rooms of the great Winter Palace gives a stunning insight into the astonishing wealth and extravagance of the Romanovs", the editorial says. One of the reason for growing popularity of the Hermitage is BBC’s recent adaptation of ‘War and Peace’ by Tolstoy.
Other attractions in the list are: Rodin Museum in Paris housing ‘The Kiss’ sculpture, Ca'Rezzonico Palace in Venice, the Picasso Museum in Antibes, Keats-Shelley House in Rome, Belvedere Gallery in Vienna, Uffizi Gallery in Florence, The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the V&A Museum in London, and the Romantic Life Museum in Paris. As a bonus, 11th attraction - the Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb - is also included into the list.
