Tsar´s Ball Celebrating
This evening´s dinner catered by the renowned French Caterer, Potel & Chabot, is in keeping with Tsarist tradition.
The concert will live up to the drama and excitement of this historic event as exceptional entertainers display a full range of their talents. Hear the angelic voices of a children´s choir, followed by a graceful performance by the Kirov ballet and rich and melodic opera solos by the stars of St.Petersburg´s opera houses.
The Tsar´s Ball has been successfully organized each year since 1994 in cooperation with one of the most prestigious French catering companies, Potel & Chabot.
The Ball takes place in the magnificent Catherine Palace, a former Imperial residence in Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin), on the 31st of December.
The main scenario is the same each year, but the artistic performances, gala dinner menu and highlights are always unique.
Midnight is celebrated with a concert of bells and a magical firework display in the park. The fairytale evening continues with traditional Russian and Cossack song and dance shows and ballroom dancing, as guests whirl their way into the New Year.
You will feel the true romance and splendor of the Tsar´s imperial traditions as you are taken back to the times of a bygone era.
A ticket to the Czars Ball is ˆ1200 including all local and federal taxes.
There are relatively few precautions, but there are two imperatives. We admonish the ladies not to wear steel spike heels. The parquetry floors are beyond price.
And smoking, which is, understandably, not allowed in the rooms of the palace. There is a special smoking area designated in the ground-floor vestibule.
Transfers for the Ball will be arranged from Grand Hotel Europe and Astoria/Angleterre.

New Year at the Nikolaevsky Palace
The New Year celebration in the Old Russian traditions takes place on the 31st of December at the Nikolaevky Palace, a former residence of Emperor Nikolay I´s son, Grand Duke Nikolay. The beautifully decorated Palace will stir your imagination. You will discover Russian traditional dance and music, participate in amusing folk games and round dances. The Folk show Feel Yourself Russian will be the highlight of the celebration. The Folk show Feel yourself Russian will the Jam of the celebration. This show is the unique opportunity to experience the history and spirit of Russia throughout one evening. The Cossack songs and dance company “Maidan” reproduces on the stage Cossacks song and dances in their original form.
