The development of the Russian kitchen was influenced by Russia's vast size, the Russian people's closeness to the land and forest and the influence of many neighboring cultures. Russian food is composed of rich combinations of poultry, game, berries, mushrooms and honey. Fish, especially from freshwater lakes and rivers is also very popular.
Russia also has a long tradition of using local grains such as barley, wheat and rye for baking unique varieties of bread including the famous Russian black bread, creating various side dishes and breakfast meals such as kasha, cooking pancakes - very popular in Russia and of course, making vodka,kvass and beer. Russian cuisine is also rich in many different soups, stews and dumpling dishes.
Take part in our exciting cooking classes centered on authentic Russian recipes and taught by great local chefs. We will show you how to prepare and serve a good sampling of Russia's world-renowned dishes such as Blini, Borsch, Pelmeni, Pirozhki, Beef Stroganoff as well as different kinds of pastry, soups, entrees and hot dishes. For most Russians, traditional lunch is all about soup. In Russia, there are a great variety of soups to be chosen from: Shchi, Ukha, Solyanka and many more. The tradition of making Shchi, for example, goes back to the 9th century and the recipe has mostly preserved its original form. So join this class and learn to make one of the most popular Russian meals. Choose a lesson about Okroshka cold soup to refresh you on a hot day or treat yourself to a good portion of Shchi or Solyanka to make you feel warm when the St. Petersburg weather turns less attractive.

Package dates are flexible. It can be customized to your taste. We can include additional excursions or performances as well as hotel accommodation on your request. We can also mix and match packages with our Moscow and St.Petersburg tours.
Payment policy:
To book a tour, 30% deposit is required at the moment of booking. The trip must be fully paid 31 days before departure.
Cancellation policy:
61 or more days before departure - a fee equal to 15% of the entire package will be charged.
60-15 days before departure - a fee equal to 30% of the entire package will be charged.
14 days or less before departure or no-show - a fee equal to 100% of the package will be charged.
Our Russian tours are offered as land only where you arrange your own airfare and we meet you at the airport and handle everything else. You can easily book the discount tickets yourself through our own discount internet ticket office. The airline tickets we offer are the cheapest available on the web.
