Ekaterinburg City Tours

Duration: 3 hours
This tour takes you to the main historical places of Yekaterinburg: The historical skver (park), the wooden dam of the city’s first plant, the old city embankment and a monument of Lenin, leader of Soviet Russia. The tour will also take you to places connected to the first President of Russia – Boris Yeltsin who originates from Yekaterinburg. On the excursion you will see old merchants’ mansions which were built in the times of the Siberian gold rush of the 18th century and modern trade centers, the theater district and the university.

We will start from the East part of the city and continue West, along the Great Siberian road to the monument of the border of Europe & Asia, which is located at the point where these 2 great continents meet. Having crossed the borderline you will get a Special Certificate and glass of sparkling wine. On the way back to the city you´ll visit Shirokorechensky Memorial with graves of Russian and German WWII soldiers. (The drive is approx. 20 km one way)

The excursion will acquaint you with the history of Romanov family in Yekaterinburg and details their tragic death. You will visit the Monastery dedicated to the family of the last Tsar. The Monastery is located on the spot where the Bolsheviks tried to hide the Romanov’s corpses in a secret grave. Today, this area is a well-known Russian Orthodox pilgrimage site decorated with seven wooden churches.

Duration: 10 hour
A visit to a real Russian village, while there you will get the chance to chop firewood, make fire and “gnat’ samogon” (traditional Russian moonshine). You will fetch water with a “koromyslo”, will try your hand at making woolen yarn on a spinning wheel. For dinner you will have potatoes with meat, cucumbers, and homemade wine. After that you will create a “snezhnuyu babu” or snowwoman in winter or a straw doll in summer. The highlight of the excursion is taking part in a Russian folk festival with folkdancing and folksongs and traditional games.
