The 6th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art

From 22nd of September to 1st of November, the 6th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art will take place. In 12 years of its existence, this event gained international importance. Now it is recognized as one of the biggest international forums in this field. Organizers collaborate with leading artists, mentors, critics, philosophers, and are very attentive to the selection of the facilities for expositions.

The first ten days of the Biennale will be dedicated to the "Interactive" components, which will include the broad discussion part and the performances. The second part will last for one month and will exhibit all the works of the artists that were created during the first ten days. The major "Interactive" part will take place in the Central Pavillion of VDNH from 22nd to 1st of October. There will be public discussions, seminars with Russian and foreign artists, scientists, social activists. It will be possible to see real-time creation of the artworks, installations or shows by different authors. Among participants will be, painters (Flaka Haliti, Rana Hamadeh, Fabrice Hyber, Suchan Kinoshita, Hanne Lippard, Ho Tzu-Nyen, Anton Vidokle, Peter Wächtler and many others), writers (Mian Mian), culture experts and economists (Saskia Sassen, Maya Van Leemput, Yanis Varoufakis).

The questions that will be brought up will touch such issues as: "What are the conditions for the better life?", "Who are we - as people, city, empire etc?", "How Moscow will look in future?". In general all the questions will be brought to one - "How we should live together or co-exist?". After that from 2nd of October to 1st of November, the exhibition will allocate all the artistic outcomes of the raised questions.

The idea of the biennale is to try to go back to the soviet ideas of community. In the exhibits authors will try not to answer the questions but to try to find the connection between the questions, future of the people and the art in its different forms. They seek to connect the art diversity with variety of national, social traditions and the experience of the USSR. "The art allows to cooperate and to transform from being one to being a pair, and maybe to even greater pluralities".
